Pet Description: I rescued Shiloh approximately a month ago from a kill shelter. She was in a foster home but it didn't work out because she got out on their daughter one morning and went running. They got her back promptly, but they live next to a guy who continues to cause a stink about their dogs so animal control came out. So they ended up bringing her back to the kennel.
She had been tied out on a tie out and was a force surrender in Hartford County. Children had thrown rocks at her while she was tied out so she appears to get defensive around some kids. In her foster home they had a young teen and she was great with her. She is also probably a dog that I would not trust around cats. We have had her for a month and have been working on her obedience. She is doing much much better now. And as soon as she sees her previous short term foster dad, she just howls to go back home with him, it is tearing them up. She was in horrible condition when she came in as far as grooming and she has been an awful lot of work to get her in much better shape, but she still needs a little work. Now that she is doing better we feel that she would be much better off in a home setting so she can experience the feeling of being able to trust and be a loyal companion. She is going to need to be placed in a home with someone who is probably familiar with the stubbornness of the breed and someone who is willing to give her some obedience. She does do well in the house and she does walk well on lead. She does well with some dogs and actually enjoys having playmates but then she has been around some that she doesn't like at all. When she feels threatened she immediately gets defensive. Shiloh needs a special home, someone who can work to regain her trust and give her some personal attention. Please help me find her a home! If you know of anyone who is interested please have them contact me. She really is beautiful and will make someone a special companion with a little effort.
